Patty believes there is beauty in just about everything we see.  Painting allows her to see life more clearly and she delights in really looking at the form and color of our surroundings and expressing the essence of a subject.  Most of the subject matter that she paints comes from photographs that she has taken. Photography allows her to edit what she sees during the painting process and delight in what surprises evolve on the canvas.  Patty’s work responds to the vibrancy of color in nature. She was raised in the suburban Chicago area and has a degree in Interior Architecture from Arizona State University. She is now following a lifelong passion for creating art after working in the design industry for many years.  She currently studies at the Art Students League of Denver with Sandra Kaplan.  Patty lives in Denver with her husband and two daughters.
